Jimmy Borja has written hits for many of the Philippines’ top recording artists for such labels as EMI, BMG, Warner, Universal, Viva, Star, Ivory,Vicor, Alpha and many others.

In July 2007, his song “Alam Ng Ating Mga Puso” recorded by Rachelle Ann Go (Viva) reached #1 for two weeks on the MYX Hit Charts. Another song “For The Rest Of My Life” recorded by Kyla was the theme song of the recently-released movie “Angels.” Earlier that same month, his song “Ang Pag-ibig Mo” was performed by the Philippines’ biggest-selling band MYMP live at The Grove in Anaheim as part of their U.S tour. He has three cuts on their latest album.

In 2006, he co-wrote with Lori Barth and Ralf Stemman the platinum hit “I Still Believe In Loving You” for Sarah Geronimo (Viva). It stayed #1 on the Philippine chart for four weeks. The song was produced by international record producer and music publisher Christian de Walden. Borja also wrote the very popular song "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" as well as the critically acclaimed "Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw" , both for Philippine diva Lani Misalucha. Another #1 Jimmy Borja song is "If The Feeling Is Gone" which was first recorded by Ella May Saison and a multi-platinum hit for EMI artist Kyla.

Borja wrote his first hit song in 1993 for BMG artist Ariel Rivera. "Sana Ngayong Pasko" has remained his most covered song. Over the years, it has been recorded by numerous artists including Lea Salonga, Sharon Cuneta and Jolina Magdangal. The song is now a contemporary Christmas classic in the Philippines. He has songs on upcoming album releases in 2008 of Claire dela Fuente, Mark Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Jimmy Marquez, Joanne Lorenzana, etc.

A self-taught musician, he writes both on keyboards and guitar. A prolific writer, he has over 200 songs recorded. Few would have guessed among his friends growing up that he would become a songwriter and musician. A licensed CPA in the Philippines, he was teaching accounting at a university and attending law school at night when he joined a local songwriting contest. He won the top prize. After winning a couple of other songwriting contests, he decided to become a full-time songwriter, in the process becoming one of the best in his generation as a writer of ballads and love songs.
